According to reports this year, anyone willing to give it a go can apparently compete with all the famous professionals who are aiming to win the 2009 World Championship.
There is though a entrance fee rumoured to be 160 Euros but then again you do have the chance to win 25 000 Euros.
The most recognized windsurfing areas in the Aegean sea are said to be on the beautiful holiday islands of Naxos, Paros, Lefkada, Rhodes, Karpathos, Kos, Mykonos and of course Crete. Whilst Karpathos does have an airport you normally have to fly via Athens. Most holiday makers choose to take a cheap flight to Rhodes or Crete and hop on a ferry.
