Best booster seats for travelling

Question: I have four children age 2 to 7 years, and we are holidaying in Spain this year. Is there such thing as blow up car boosters? As baggage allowance with a large family is very precious. Any ideas of good suppliers? Emma Davies, by email

Answer: While inflatable booster seats for use in restaurants are available, there is no equivalent product for cars. However, most car hire companies will offer car seats for rental, either on a daily or weekly basis.

Try Malaga Car, which provides car seats for between €2 and €3 a day, or Car Hire Alicante, which has a maximum charge of €36 per rental contract - a good bet if you're going on a long holiday.

Alternatively, if you have your own car, consider an independent baby equipment hire firm. Mother Goose is based in the Costa Blanca region of Spain and rents car seats for €3 per day, or €15 a week. Collection and delivery are free.

All 4 Kids Hire serves the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida areas and offers a choice of six different car seats, available to rent from €10 - €24 per week.
